Arashiyama area: very good tourist shops around the station. Walk across the wooden bridge and turn left to a nice park with shops and restaurants, or turn right for a walk along a quiet lane by the river. This lane leads to a temple with supposedly a great view. I didn't get that far due to a thunder storm moving in. The river is very pretty. There is also a monkey park nearby. |
