The night time is very wonderful, because people from different places and countries can chat together and make friends. Besides, they serve snacks! However, it's a pity that they didn't take us to the outstoor hot spa nearby in the evening, because there were too many people (over 15) stayed there. |

HI Hostel Kussharo - Kussharo-Genya YGH The Youth Guest House is set in a wilderness overlooking the primeval Lake Kussharo, and provides an ideal base for travelling and outdoor activities for families, groups and individuals alike. The many attractions of the YGH include its unique and stunning wooden structure which gives guests both privacy and a convivial environment, in which guests have the opportunity to interact over refreshments provided by the hostel. Affordably priced and authentic home cooked Japanese meals are available at the YGH, as are a variety of 'learn by doing' programmes and open-air hot springs in the vicinity of the lake, all of which give the guests a delightful Japanese experience. Centrally situated in the North Eastern part of Hokkaido, the YGH offers a convenient location for those making a day trip to the Lake Mashu, Shiretoko, Kushiro Marsh or Akan.
