Hostel is 2 km outside the city. You can walk. In Trysil there are asia restaurants and supermarkets, all stuff where you can get food to a moderate price. |

For a good meal you can walk to trysil city centre (20 minutes walking). You can buy food and cook it yourself at the hostel at the supermarket, which is located on your left when you enter Trysil. Across the street there is also a very nice pizza restaurant who also serve some meat dishes like Kebab. It was excellent food. |

We have been hiking the mountains on the east side of Trysil. The lakes Grosjoen and Orsjoen are fantastic for fishing, with a fishing cabin complete with grill at your convenience to use for free. The view there is magnificent. Also the Trysil river has great fishing possibilities. There are also mountainbike routes which run through magnificent beautiful scenery. If you like, you can have a 2-3 day walk to the mountain Kanka which has some beautiful lakes next to it and a really beautiful environment. Please note that you MUST have a map and compass, or detailed topo GPS with you, and hiking experience is highly recommended!!! |
