Walk left out of the hostel and walk through the first square, and keep walking straight for maybe five more minutes. here you will find many authentic Czech restaurants that are much cheaper than the ones near tourist attractions such as the astronomical tower and the prague castle. try schnitzel with pommes, goulash with pommes, potato dumplings, and try sirloin (in prague it comes with whipped cream, cranberries, and dumplings). try czech beer too! you can get any of these in this area for 99-200 czechs, which is less than $10 or 8 euros |

definitely try karlovy lazne, it's the most famous club in prague, but watch out for pickpockets (my purse got stolen there). other than that, just bar hop around this hostel/ the astronomical clock area. try a pub crawl, because otherwise the bars are a bit expensive |

I usually don't eat in restaurants, but rather buy fruit, meat, cheese and a roll at the market. However, at the train station while leaving Prague, I met an old man from San Fransisco who couldn't say enough about Havelska Koruna at 23 Havelska, He said for 71 Kc he had a huge meal with Coke and juice. On my return, when I fly back home, I plan to check it out! |
