There's some cheap take away restaurants just around the corner where the food is pretty awesome (particularly the Indian food place). I highly recommend it on a cold winter night. |

This being my second time in Paris, I have come to believe that all of inner Paris is a tourist trap. All the brasseries and cafes are alike and offer the same fares and prices. Generally meals are between 10 and 20 euros with a median of 13 or 14. You best bets are the middle eastern kabob places and the grocery stores. Groceries seemed cheap to me compared to the USA. |

There is a Lidl directly opposite which was handy for buying budget sundries. If you take a right when you leave the hostel (the opposite way from the Metro station) and follow the canal you will find a few nice bars and restaurants which are reasonably priced. |

across street Lidl for a juices, salads and sandwiches. Lowest cost meal in Paris. Nice dining room to eat you meal and supplement your breakfast with something more substantial from Lidl. leave milk, etc. in frig. |

Much of the nightlife is simply night at those same brasseries. I am told there are some clubs for various types of music but I haven't found them. The Opera Garnier is good especially on Sunday nights and good seat at cheap prices at will call. |

Me and my friends we went to some bars over the hostel in the Av.Republique and here are some names you should also try, more for those who like rock music...UFO bar; Le Pin Up; Downtown Cafe; Panic room...and if you look for yourself you will find more good stuff. |

| HI Hostel Paris - Jules FerryDie Herberge befindet sich im historischen Viertel um die Place de la République, sehr belebt, aber trotzdem ruhig. Ganz in der Nähe finden sich zahlreiche Sehenswürdigkeiten, und Metrostation und Bushaltestelle (auch für Nachtbusse) sind nur wenige Schritte entfernt – der ideale Ausgangspunkt, um die Stadt und ihr Nachtleben zu erkunden.
