Algeria. Coming out of the front Mergellina station go left past the tunnel and then in the plazza-type thing there are a bunch of restaurants with tables and tents outside. Go past those and into the corner to find Algeria. At least I'm pretty sure that's the name. We had great pasta and wine for less than 10 euros, and veal with side dishes for less than 15. |

Pompeii, duh. But unless you're willing to get up ridiculously early/wander around really late it'll be difficult to visit the Grotte de Michele and some of the farther away monasteries. Getting the Campart card or whatever its called is a good investment, especially for visiting Pompeii and Herculanium. It also minimizes the hassle of getting transit tickets every time- though you could do it like the Italians do and not have one and hope the transit officials don't decide to check your train... |

Almafi coast and Capri. A friend went to Capri and made me totally jealous at the end of the day so must go back. Also need to go in the summer when its not rainy and New Years is a scary time to go because they will sell firecrackers at every corner to anyone with the euros to buy them, and then they set them off for at least an hour at midnight. |
