A evening ticket for metro was very cheap, something like 1,7 euros and was valid until midnight! |

Avoid the pavement cafes near the station. I went to 2 cafes. I had a bad cup of tea (not hot) and a pathetic crepe (very thin, going cold, no syrup) both of which cost more than I have ever paid before. |

Turn right out of the hosel, right again onto rue Ovigneur. Great pizza place called Pizza Uno. Also a couple of traditional French bars which are open in the afternoon but not late at night. |

The free zoo near the Citadelle is worth a visit. Also the Republique Beaux Arts entertained the children. Along side the Goyas and Rubens they have other interesting exhibits, films, models as well as modern dross. |

We took a train from the Gare Lille Flanders station to Bruges for a day out. I cost £100 for 2 adults and 3 children (14,13,11). Excellent visit, well worth the money. Did a boat trip, ate lunch in a patisserie and bought belgium chocolates. Beautiful city, fabulous architecture. |

Turn left then right out of the hostel and after theroundabout with a huge arch on it you come to a lovely park. Nice playground and picnic space (5 mins walk). Really nice to go here and the bois de bologne's zoo. |
