The restaurant across the street from the hostel has a beautiful view of the harbour and has great food. We had the cod and it was fantastic! A huge bonus to this place - they offer a twenty percent discount to people who are staying at the hostel. |

Whale watching is more affordable from Dalvik then from Husavik. You can also catch the ferry to Grimsey Island from here. |

| HI Hostel DalvikDie Jugendherberge ist in einem schönen, großen Haus an der Hauptstraße im Zentrum von Dalvík, oberhalb des Hafens untergebracht. Lebensmittelladen, Geldautomat, ein Café und ein Restaurant findet man in unmittelbarer Nähe. Dalvík ist ein typisches Fischerdorf mit rund 1 500 Einwohnern. Es liegt auf der Halbinsel Tröllaskagi, umgeben von Meer und Berglandschaft. Unzählige Aktivitäten sind hier möglich: Whalewatching, Reiten, Wandern, Golf, Ski, Vogelbeobachtung u. v. m. Außerdem gibt es ein Museum, ein Schwimmbad und ein Fitnesscenter. Im Winter kann man hier sogar Nordlichter sehen! Die Sæfari-Fähren verkehren dreimal wöchentlich ab Dalvík zur Insel Grímsey am Polarkreis und zweimal wöchentlich zur Insel Hrísey im Eyjafjörður. | mehr...... |
