The Rock Club therockpub-bangkok.com . Located on Payathai Road, opposite the Asia Hotel, next to the Siam Discovery Centre. The outside looks like a rock castle, can be a little hard to see if you are on the otherside of the road. Inside beers domestic for 110 bht. on the night i visited 70% local crowd, 30% non local, some americans and australians, and europeans. Two bands played rock requests, mostly on the heavier side, Slayer, Audioslave etc, some classics, Hendrix. Depending on whet mood they are in the band may say yes or no to your request. One guy from the audiance even came up and sang BonJovi. good banter in Thai and english between songs for the last band, with jokes about the requests. The first band could hold a stadium audience, great head banging technique and stomach roars. |

My focus was to spend the winter months somewhere warm rather than tourist activities. If you want Wimanmek mansion, Dusit Zoo are nearby (either walking distance or very close by taxi). If you like shopping, take bus 16 on Phitsanulok road before crossing and it should take me to Siam area where all trendy malls and shops are concentrated. |

| HI Hostel Bangkok - HI BangkokDas HI Bangkok liegt zentral in Laufnähe zu verschiedenen Tempeln und anderen Attraktionen wie der berühmten Kao San Road und dem Chao Praya, auf dem man Flussfahrten zum Wat Arun und anderen Sehenswürdigkeiten unternehmen kann. Andere Stadtteile sind außerdem bequem mit dem Tuk-Tuk zu erreichen. Im Hauptgebäude gibt es zwölf großzügige Privatzimmer mit Bad (Dusche mit Heißwasser) und Klimaanlage.
