10 Okt 2011 Yvonne, Neuseeland:
Antalya Museum - fantastic selection of statues of gods and godesses, and ornate sarcophogi. Easy access via tram. The ruins of the Kesik Minare (Truncated Minaret) are right behind the hostel - has been a Roman temple, Byzantine Church and a mosque. Wandering around the narrow streets of Kaleici with its Ottoman houses in various states of repair - we came across the 400 year old house in which Ataturk's wife was born (as told by the jeweller who had the 103 year old house/shop next door). |

A day trip to Perge, Aspendos and Side can be booked in the old town. Passengers are collected from their hotel/pension. At 40 Euros it represents real value for money as entry fees to the archaeological sites and lunch is included in the price. |
