| HI Hostel Ilirska Bistrica-Brce - YH Brkini Youth hostel Brkini is located in beautiful and small village Brce, which lies on the eastern slope of the hills called Brkini. The village has got only 10 houses and 30 inhabitants and is connected by an asphalt road with the nearest town Ilirska Bistrica, which is only 4km away. The surrounding forests and wood paths are suitable for trips, hikes, cycling and horseback riding. You can go climbing in the near mountains: Sneznik (1796 m), Kozlek (997 m), Slavnik (1028 m), and Nanos (1262 m). You can go also fishing on the (water - storage) lakes Mola and Klivnik or on the river Reka in the immediate vicinity. In the summer months bathing, swimming and other water sports are possible on the sea, for it is only 25 km to the Adratic Sea with its Kvarner Bay. The area of Brkini is famous for its home produced food, home-made smoked ham and plum brandy. | more...... |
