Haderslev lies in the middle of a beautiful subglacial stream trench with Haderslev cathedral situated on a hill in the centre of town. The town's history can be dated back 800 years. The town has a large local archaeological museum. The town is surrounded by water, ideal for canoeing or a lovely boat trip to the Årøsund and the Little Belt island of Årø with the fjord boat Helene.
