The Hostel is very close to the Museum of American Art/National Portrait Gallery. Also close, the National Building Museum has small exhibits, a fabulous interior space to visit or relax in, superb bookstore. |

If you're working on sobriety, there are 3 recovery clubs in Washington. The Metropolis Club is closest, on 928 5th St NW; I got there & they were mighty nice to me- I ran into folks all over DC thereafter! I didn't make it to the Dupont Circle Club, upstairs at 1623 Connecticut Avenue NW, or the Westside Club, at 1341 Wisconsin Ave NW, but say hi to them for me anyways, OK? |

NEW YORK! DC isn't a partying city, it's far more conservative, so after a trip here and seeing all the sights, go let your hair down in NY! It's only 4 hours and $22 by Greyhound Bus. |
