I've also stayed at HI in NYC. Equally great place to stay, and Megabus is an awesome, affordable way to get from DC to NYC. |

If you get a chance to do a tour, do a DC by foot tour. You have to register but its free and one of the best parts of my whole trip!! |

The Indian-Pakistani place kitty corner by the hostel wasn't bad for the price (considering it's DC). Also Snap Crepes in Georgetown, although it's on a side street. |
