Go to the Tofino hostel. It's very new and has almost luxurious accomodation. There's a tiny beach there or you can walk to a further beach. Also in the summer there's a shuttle I think to Pacific Rim park. Lots of galleries and shops. |

Beacon Hill park. (You can walk along the beach as well). Go see inside the Empress Hotel. Museum is excellent as well. |

Mexican Resturant in Johnson Street Arcade Reef on Yates - great carribean food The Canoe Club isn't budget but still reasonable - great for evening outside dining next to the marina |

there is a lone bakery/restaurant on the corner of Pandora and Government that offers 10 different breakfast specials for $3.99 including french toast, eggs, pancakes... also a great restaurant serving plenty of vegan and vegitarian options at the bottom of Bastion Square (below the Irish pub) that isn't too pricy. |

Darcy's Pub which is a 5 minute walk from the hostel has great shots and friendly staff...the Irish pub in Bastion Square always has sum live music going on... |

the BC museum next to parliament buildings especially if you're into life and times thru the ages. Butchart Gardens which takes about 30 minutes by public busses to get to. just walking around the downtown core around Government and Yates was fun, always sumthin to see. |
