27 Sep 2010 Jenna, USA:
Staying on Granville street is a little intimidating if you aren't a big partier. For a quieter and more laid back place to go for a drink or two ask the front desk to direct you to Subeez Cafe. Great drinks and food and a lounge-y type atmosphere. |

07 Sep 2010 Vivien, Canada:
I recommend the bus/ferry round trip journey from Horseshoe Bay to Powell River, then ferry across to Comox, then bus to Nanaimo then ferry back to Horseshoe Bay(or continue on to Victoria etc). It is a superb journey. From downtown Vancouver I took the express bus to Horseshoe Bay (fare quite reasonable), got a ticket for the ferry crossing, then on the ferry I bought a bus ticket for Nanaimo. It cost me $9.00 which was a rip off because it is only a very short ride from the pier to the Greyhound Bus Station. Unfortunately if you decide to walk, you would miss the connected bus for Victoria or Nanaimo and would be obliged to wait for the next one. |

I didn't find anything I fancied in the downtown Vancouver. Perhaps I didn't stay long enough to explore the place and didn't check Lonely Planet, Guide du Routard etc. |
