14 May 2011 Stuart, USA:
Maybe not budget meal, but THE best burritos I have found in America can be got from a tiny Mexican place (I can't remember the name) just round from the CalTrain Station, on 3rd Street. Very unassuming place (with orange lettering), but the biggest and most flavoursome and best value burritos you may find in the US. I wait (with my appetite) in anticipation to be proven otherwise!!! |

14 May 2011 Stuart, USA:
San Jose is a fantastic spot to visit for maybe a day or two, just south of San Francisco, doesn't suffer from the same Bay Area micro-climate (it gets HOT), and is perhaps an even cooler place where you can brush shoulders with hippies and Silicon Valley millionaires in the same drinking establishment. |

Well, San Fransisco ... which was our purpose for staying and the great location Fort Mason is. Great enough for me to put up with this depressing staff. |

The cafe here at the hostel. There are no cheap meals in SF. I paved $7 for a hot dog and bottle of water from a street tender on Union Square. The dog was not gourmet, just a plain dog. |
