The Farmers' Market down the hill, at the Ft. Mason warehouses. Every Sunday, a good selection of fresh produce and prepared food. It isn't as big as the Saturday market at the Ferry Building (fab experience), but it is very close and convenient. Grab stuff, then prep in the kitchen at the hostel. Super Fresh!

from the hostel we were able to walk to; fishermans wharf, pier 39, Lombard (the zigzag part), and chinatown. there are also many bicycle rental places within walking distance, not having to drive in the city....priceless.

The Cafe Franco located inside the hostel was a wonderful option for dining. The dinner special was yummy, affordable and our cook played guitar. Great for when you're too tired to cook and want to eat more frugally.

We loved biking over the Golden Gate Bridge into Sausalito--make sure renting bikes one day is on your agenda. The Exploratorium, and Aquarium were also great.
Don't miss... 14 Jun 2011 Evelyn, USA:
The Palace of Fine Arts for a relaxing free stroll, and look for the free admission to the Botanical Garden (once a month).
Don't miss... 08 Jun 2011 John, USA:
Bike across Golden Gate Bridge to Sausalito. Lovely views of the Marina (houses, boats, water), Palace of Fine Arts, Crissy Field, Golden Gate Bridge & quaint shops in Sausalito. Long downhill ride to Sausalito was especially fun. Then take the ferry from Sausalito to Fisherman's Wharf and bike across the piers. Check out the antique (and playable) arcades at Musee Mecanique on Pier 45. So bring a bike or rent one! Leave that car at the hostel :)
