The View bar at the 39th floor of the Marriott. North Beach is spectactular and a great place to get away from the mania of Downtown. |

Lori's Diner is good (just a couple of doors up), I was also very impressed with Little Delhi (83 Eddy St, www.littledelhi.com) which serves very good Indian dishes. |

For an excellent evening's entertainment head to Johnny Foley’s (243 O'Farrell Street) and go down into the basement for their duelling pianos (www.duelingpianosatfoleys.com), a must see every time I'm in San Francisco! |

If "living things" is what you like the bay aquarium at pier 39 was a great surprise, it has the longest tunnel I've ever been with sharks, sturgeons and rays |
