Rent bikes at Blazing Saddles 1 block away - bike to Golden Gate park, ocean, Presidio, across the bridge to Sausalito and take ferry back to SF. The guy at Blazing Saddles mapped out a great route. Be sure to say you are staying at the hostel and they give you $10 off the day's rental. Fabulous day! |

Chinatown - specifically a restaurant called china town - about half a mile down the main road in china town - off a little road on the right. Food is great and very reasonable. |

Bourbon & Branch (the Library) for a swanky but low key drink out. Its a speakeasy - see their website for password to get in. Its only 2 blocks from downtown HI. |

California Academy of Sciences. For a fun & sort of touristy outing: Take the trolley to Pier 39. Get chowder to go and walk west down the Embarcadero clear to the end at Fisherman's wharf. Find a quiet spot near the working fishing boats for a picnic lunch. Option 2: Sunrise coffee & biscotti (Italian French Baking Co on Grant is yummy) walk up the crooked street - You'll have it to yourself. :) |
