28 Oct 2010 Stephen, Canada:
Rent a bicycle and ride on Coronado and the strand. Get the one day unlimited public transit ticket for 5.00. It's a huge savings. The public transit is clean and safe and empty mostly. Love the trolley. Take the Coaster up the coast to visit the small towns on hwy 101. Cheap transport but remember you have to be home by 7:00 p.m. to get the last bus past the hostel. |

28 Oct 2010 Stephen, Canada:
I've never seen so many fast food facilities ! They do serve reasonably priced salads at Jack in the Box - good alternative to tacos and burritos. The nearby grocery store is very handy and has a good selection of fresh fruits and veggies. |

21 Sep 2010 Kate, England & Wales:
I wonder if the hostel uses some kind of eco-detergent - if so, it's not working. Sure, we'd all like to reduce the amount of chemicals being tipped into our oceans and waterways, but we also like sleeping on clean sheets when we have paid to do so. |
