Don't miss... 21 Feb 2009 Stephanie, USA:
Can't say much about the attractions, we don't get to see much, since we are on business. But, I will say the city is really quaint. We walk every morning up "H" to about 26th street and back, and you see alot of really cool houses and on the way up "H" you have the Governors Mansion. The Capital Park is really nice and we've been to one event at the park; Music event a couple of years ago, and that was fun. I can't say much more than that. Just remember it is Sacramento, and it's no L.A., Washington D.C., or New York. So don't expect some grand city, but it is fun, you just have to make it fun.
For good eats check out... 21 Feb 2009 Stephanie, USA:
Well....everything is really close walking distance. The mall, resturants etc, even the old town is just about a 15-18 minute walk. We've eaten everywhere, two come to mind, the brewery right down the street on "H" - oh two blocks up on the right side, great food. Then, I am sorry to say I can't remember the name of the place, but they would know at the hostel, there is a great hamburger joint. Best hamburgers I've eaten and even our staff that goes up with us, says the same thing. It's walking distance too, just a little bit of a walk. The name is simple....it has hamburger in the name...I think. But, it great though. It is also a bar!
For great nightlife try... 21 Feb 2009 Stephanie, USA:
The same place for hamburgers, the bar is pretty happening. Night life is Sac isn't much to speak of, especially during the week. Just remember resturants close very early.
07 Feb 2009 Robert, USA:
Hidden Villa, Los Altos Hills (take the bike-friendly Amtrak Capitol and Caltrain to San Antonio Station and ride 6 miles to serenity and great hiking trails).
Don't miss... 07 Feb 2009 Robert, USA:
During baseball season, visit Raleigh Field. Summertime evening games in Sactown are comfortable and fun.
18 Jan 2009 Katherine, USA:
Come on down to the HI's in Marin and at Fort Mason in San Francisco. Both are uniquely beautiful and well-located for many wonderful historical and natural treasures.
