HI Hostel HI - Portland - Northwest Hostel Information Page

This is Portland's most centrally located hostel. You can walk to the city centre, Amtrak/Greyhound, Washington Park (Rose Garden, Japanese Garden, Oregon Zoo), Powell's City of Books, museums, downtown, the Pearl, Chinatown and more. Only 3 blocks to Portland's fareless zone: all buses, trams, and street cars are free in downtown. We are located in the heart of Portland's historic and vibrant Northwest/Nob Hill neighborhood. Cafés, shops, brew pubs, theatres, galleries, and nightlife create a happening district. Just one block away is the Mission Brew Pub theatre ($3 movies), and Forest Park, the country's largest natural park, is a short walk away and offers great hiking and biking. In 2006, we expanded and now have two buildings. The Elliston building, a historic landmark, built in 1889, features dorms and private rooms, outside courtyard with BBQ, kitchen and dining room, small coffee bar, common areas, laundry facilities, Internet kiosk, free local phone calls, free wireless internet for laptops, free lockers and luggage storage, free parking lot and free on-street parking, and free pastries, bread and bagels. Registered guests have 24 hour access. Helpful and friendly staff offer great information on things to see and do, and we provide free maps. Our information boards are updated every week. Van tours can be booked to Mt. St. Helens Volcano, Columbia River Gorge, Cascade Mountains, and the Oregon Coast. Ask for our self-guided itineraries. During the summer months there are free weekly summer music concerts in neighboring parks. Notes on rates: rates quoted on this website are Hostelling International member rates. Non-members may join on arrival or pay $3 extra per night, per person. Lodging tax of 12.5% will be added to all overnight fees on arrival. Visit us at nwportlandhostel.com!
