Take subway to Canal Street, walk though Chinatown to City Hall, over the Brooklyn Bridge to take in the views of the city, through Dumbo and / or Brooklyn Heights.. At that point, if you feel you want to spend some money, go to Atlantic Avenue / Cobble Hill for a reasonably-priced snack and a beer in the cafes / bars / restaurants. Another tip: if you go all the way downtown to Statue of Liberty / Wall Street / Staten Island Ferry during the warm months, make sure to go to Stone Street / Hannover Square, and enjoy a beer al fresco along the cobblestone streets. |
