Viet Nam is a tourists dream. The costs are still reasonable and the food is outstanding, fusing French and IndoChinese. The people are friendly and the tourist infrastructure is very good. Recommed Hoi An on the Unesco List. Halong Bay is like a dreamscape, with misty limestone towers starkly rising out of a tranquil bay.
For great nightlife try... 24 Jun 2012 Scott, Australia:
soho, also the west village if you want to find some good jazz - smalls or fat cats (fat cats is cheap and an amazing atmosphere)
For good eats check out... 30 Jun 2012 Roy, USA:
Ollies Noodle Shop W116th Street - next to Columbia University
Don't miss... 09 Jun 2012 Irene, Canada:
central park and brooklyn bridge of course!
For great nightlife try... 03 Jun 2012 Nicholas, South Africa:
The club guy at the hostel will take you to webster hall which is pretty awesome. Beware of going to west village and meat packing district unless you have lots of money, and a very expensive outfit. This may not be true of every bar and club in the area, but it is true of several. It's full of pretentious people.
Don't miss... 25 Jun 2012 John, USA:
The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Guggenheim are not to be missed.
Don't miss... 02 Jun 2012 Morna, USA:
Tenement Museum LES, Ellis Island, High Line--landscaped former elevated roadway on West Side...a bit of nature in a concrete jungle---very cool!
For good eats check out... 02 Jun 2012 Newton, Australia:
Kat'z Delicatessen, The Meatball Shop, Soul Mama
