There is plenty of untouched nature and a wealth of history to discover on Nantucket Island. The hostel, complete with cupola, was built as a lifesaving station in 1873. The hostel, listed on the National Register of Historic Places,is across the street from Surfside Beach. Don't miss the Whaling Museum to learn about the island's fascinating past. Explore by bicycle, inline skates, kayak, or on foot. Finish your day off with a seafood dinner or a sunset on the beach. # Funds to support the restoration and rehabilitation of Hostelling International Nantucket, the Star of the Sea Hostel, were provided by The Nantucket Community Preservation Committee. # CALL US FOR CO-ED BEDS!!! * You must be 18 years or older, or be accompanied by a parent or guardian. * Hostelling International is a non-profit membership based organization.
