Plan ahead, and bring your own food to cook in the kitchen. The hostel cafe is very overpriced, and there aren't any other restaurants nearby (unless you want to drive a bit). |

Yosemite entrance is good for I think 6 days, so if you get to Midpines early you could get to Yosemite for a few days. |

The cafe at the Yosemite Bug was very good value, decent selection, and I really appreciated the good coffee and opportunity to buy beer. |

The on site restaurant was very good and gave generous proportions. I didn't find out there was an on site shared kitchen until the second day. The deli at Yosemite has small cartons of milk for 25 cents! |
