Lanikai beach - take the 57 bus from Ala Moana shopping center, then transfer to the number 70 ( go to the end of the line). Lanikai is out of the way, beautiful, and quiet. For an extraordinary view, take a hike up to the pillboxes on the hill overlooking Lanikai beach. The trailhead is across the street from the Mid Pac golf course - the trail is steep and can be slippery if wet.
