We enjoyed biking along the bike trail - up towards Truro and down to the Nickerson State Park which has very smooth but quite hilly bike trails and great swimming in different ponds. Lovely, even in the rain. We had Flax Pond all to ourselves!
For good eats check out... 21 Aug 2010 Emma, England & Wales:
There is a huge supermarket 15 mins from the hostel, and a big kitchen there that you can cook in.
For great nightlife try... 21 Aug 2010 Emma, England & Wales:
The hostel is in a wholly residential area. The closest restaurants/bars of any note are in Orleans - 25 minutes away at a brisk walk, and the walk back (on the rail trail) is pitch dark and very isolated. We went into Orleans for dinner one night but, though the food was good (at Land Ahoy) we rather regretted it when we had to walk back at about 9pm with flashlights. We were two girls and I certainly didn't feel very safe. Oh, and there are apparently no taxis in the area.
Don't miss... 21 Aug 2010 Emma, England & Wales:
Nickerson State Park (off the Rail Trail) for cycling - brilliant, and you virtually have the windy paths to yourself.
For good eats check out... 26 Aug 2010 Mike, England & Wales:
Sorry, didn't eat out while there so can't comment!
Don't miss... 11 Aug 2010 Valerie, France:
whale-watching trip from Provincetown
For good eats check out... 01 Aug 2010 Joshua, USA:
El Guapo on Underpass Road in Brewster. The Cape Cafe in Orleans (breakfast and lunch). The Sparrow for coffee, chocolate, soup and sandwiches, and people watching.
