We went to Jasper and while there, to the Edith Cavell lake and Angel glacier. This was terrific. No bus loads of people there and just beautiful. It is not mentioned in the literature and not even pushed at the tourist office. The road up is steep and windy but newly paved and a good standard.We went by car but once there.there are several trails to hike around. Not to be missed we think .Better than the Columbia Icefield which was spectacular but very commercialized. shed much i |

Hike Tunnel Mountain, right behind the hostel. Aceess to trailhead approx a 10 min walk from the hostel. A fairly easy, gently sloping switchback trail. The top offers a panoramic view of the townsite, the Bow valley and the surrounding wilderness. Check out the Banff Centre for the pool, whirlpool, steam room, exercise room, massage, etc. Day passes are 10.00 or less. |
