Flatop mountain hike is the best value but at $22 it's just a lift to the mountain. Everyone there admits it's 'rip off the tourist' season. Getting out of Anchorage is hard and expensive to do although it's stunning when you leave it behind. |

HI Hostel HI - Anchorage - Alaska Backpackers Inn If you are feeling all pumped up after a day of wrestling bears, we have a common room with TV and games to release some of that energy. Or if you are feeling tranquil and sleepy after a day of swimming with the Beluga whales we have reading rooms to relax in.
Alaska Backpacker’s Inn is Anchorage's newest backpacker’s hostel. We are located in downtown Anchorage only a few minutes walk from all that downtown Anchorage has to offer. We are right around the corner from the train station and Alaska direct bus.
The hostel has small dorms (No more than 4 beds per dorm) and private rooms. Other facilities include cable TV in a large common area which also has a foosball table and vending machines, reading room, kitchen, lots of clean spacious bathrooms and much more.
All our floors have been painted by local artists so each room has a different 'theme'. When building we used alot of recycled timber and other bits and pieces to add to the Alaskan feel.
We also offer a booking service for all that you wish to do in Alaska. So if you want us to help arrange a month long trip or just a single night’s stay we can help you find the best price.
