It is a good idea to stay overnight in Fussen before/after visiting the Neuschwanstein Castle as you would avoid the afternoon crowds at the castle and also in the trains from Munich. |

The market at Augusten and Bahnhof (at the roundabout just SE of the train station) is a great place to stock up on snacks for a hike in King's Nook. There are plenty of delicious meats and cheeses for just a couple Euros per package, inexpensive beers and liquors, a small produce section, plenty of candy, and even basic camping and toiletry supplies. My two friends and I spent about seven Euros on lunch between the three of us, and we had plenty left over for the next meal. |
