Visit the local boulangerie for breads, legume market for fruits/vegies, fromagerie for cheeses, and vin cave for wine. Remember mid-day 2-hour and often Sunday closure of stores. Picnic spots are everywhere. |

Tabac Ecluse provided coffee, beer etc - very friendly and helpful - Creperie provided a great selection of crepes and salades at reasonable prices - Restuarant de L' Ecluse on the same canal bank but beyond the bridge had 2 fixed menus which were very good value. |

| HI Hostel Cepoy Montargis Set in a 17th-century castle with its own parkland, the hostel is in a small village close to Fontainebleu. Activities include windsurfing, hiking and horse riding.
