Chateaux Comptal, a boat trip down the Canal du Midi and the two day trips offered by the Tourist Information board. Take the classic photograph of the Pont Vieux and the Chateux skyline in the background from Pont Neuf. It's the best spot for a fairytale castle view. |

The chateau is only €5 for 18-25year olds but when I went in the afternoon it was free entry; the battlements give amazing views and photo opportunities. |

Chateau de Peyrepertuse & Gorges de Galamus to the SE. Mirepoix & Chateau de Montsegur to the SW. The Canal du Midi makes for a relaxing excursion too & departures are from outside the train station in Carcassonne. |
