08 Jun 2012 John, England & Wales:
The escargots stand ("Chez Jef & Fils") across from the Bourse, just outside the steps to the Bourse (Beurs) Pre-Metro station. €4 gets you 12 amazingly tasty, huge escargots. They're not like the traditional French snails, which are smaller, more tender, and served in the shell with garlic butter. They're bigger, a bit more meaty (almost like calamari), served outside the shell, and cooked in a peppery onion-y broth. Om nom nom! |

...the gueuze at A La Morte Subite. It's an acquired taste, but it's a local speciality, and truly traditional. Beware: it will get you pissed very quickly! |

Luxembourg. Trains leave Midi, Centrale, Nord, Schuman and Luxembourg (the one in Brussels) stations every hour and take three hours. It's a lovely city, with a vibe very much its own. |
