Brugge is great for exploring away from the tourist centre. Found the sexiest bronze statue of a beautiful young woman on my wanders. Wish I could find out more about it. |

If you're backpacking, you can rent a bike at the station when you arrive and return it there when you leave. The bike is great around town (it's bigger than you might think) and also to Damme or on to the North Sea. |

Food VERY EXPENSIVE everywhere especially as has a family of 4 to eat on a very tight budget. Hadn't anticipated it would be quite so bad, but did manage to survive for 3 days - probably have struggled for a week. |
