I recommend the area around Lake Bohinj, about 20 km SW of Lake bled; lots of recreational opportunities there also.

Nice take away in the center, with amazing creps.

There is a bar just closed to the hostel. Nice place, nice stuff, free internet if you drink something, very cheap, a lot of travelers!

The lake island: you can arrive pay 10 euros for 10 minutes boat trip, or for free swimming: I swam, it was one of the more unforgettable of my swim! :-)

Youth Hostel BLEDEC is completely renovated and has been continuing a 70-year-old tradition of youth tourism at Bled. It is situated in a peaceful part of town. A 5-minute walk brings you to the lake. The walking path takes you to the castle (within less than 10 minutes).
