Usual berlin sights are within walking distance if you have half a day. Transport system is easy once you know how it works. Schonefeld station very poor in this respect with no international instruction available |

The knockwurst and currywurst at the booth East of the Staatsoper, on the south side of Unter den Linden, across from the German Historical Museum, are good. On cold days, when you need a cappucino to warm up, the view of the Brandenburg Gate from the Starbuck's at the West end of Unter den Linden, on the North side, is quite good. |

The Dom (beautiful architecture). Operas at the Komishe Oper. Chamber music at the Staatsoper. Ballets by the Staatsballet (performed in the Staatsoper). Ancient architecture at the Pergamon museum. A German perspective on German history at the Deutches Historiches Meseum. |

At the hostel you're 20 minutes walk away from Potsdamer Platz in one direction and from Kurfürstendamm in the other, so well worth exploring in the evenings. |
