The evening meal at the hostel was poor and caffateria like. I wouldn't eat it again. There is a kebab place near by. |

There's a deli on Via della Stazione up towards the train station end. They have lovely fresh bread, cakes, cheese and fruit and veg etc. |

Castelgrande - climb up the castle steps and there's a restaurant with a terrace and great views. It was fairly cheap to sit at a table, take in the cool breeze, watch the swallows diving, drink a coffee and have a piece of cake. |

Bellinzona is half an hour away to Locarno by train, trains run every hour till about midnight. This is a better place to be for a livelier evening out and a stroll by the lake. |
