There are a lot of little places around to eat at. The restaurant in the hotel is pretty good too. The buffet breakfast is a little expensive for what you get though. I would also recommend the Peking duck place across from the Heping Men subway station. It was $50 US for two people for the duck and one other dish but it was well worth it. The duck was AMAZING. |

We didn't go out much at night because we were up early and out all day. We did go to an opera one night. It was not what I was expecting but pretty cool. |

Besides all the normal things to do in Beijing (Forbidden City, Temple of Heaven, etc.) I would greatly recommend a two day hike at the Great Wall. We went through a company called Great Wall Adventure Club. We didn't see any other tourists on our entire hike until the very end. We stayed at a farmer's house at night. You get to see the parts of the wall that aren't redone. It's murder on your legs if you aren't in shape though. There are tons of stairs and hills to climb. It was an awesome experience. |

The directions to Mutianyu (Great Wall) in The Lonely Planet guide, in English and Hebrew, are just fine. Great place to see the wall. |
