parc guell - the best park you will ever see and worthwhile experience. we recommend going to the stop that is above the park rather than the one at the bottom of the hill. this way you start at the top with amazing views over the city and can walk down the park taking in the sights and gaudi's work. also go to sagrada familla and go inside - amazing architecture. walk along the beach and la ramblas - fantastic atmosphere. go to montjuic to see the fountains and the museum building. if you want to go to castello batllo then make sure you know the opening times - we went on a wednesday afternoon and it was closed - very disappointed as we wanted to see more gaudi work. definitely need to spend 4 days at least in barcelona to see all the the sights. |

Bello Italy, just walk a couple meters south after exiting Carrer L'Hopital (the street of the hostel) onto the Ramblas. A little cafe, a minute walk east of the hostel on Carrer L'Hopital, has 2 Euro pizzetas that are good to supplement the very insubstantial breakfast you will receive. For cheap and good food, get out of the Ramblas. Its a tourist trap. Just take the metro north to a stop like Lesseps or Penitantes. Tapas for about 2 euros and up, compared to 5 downtown. |
