There´s a ¨por quilo¨ restaurant about a block and a half from the Hostel. It has ¨natural foods¨which include many vegetarian and vegan choices. From the hostel go right to the traffic signal, cross Rua Copacanana, go straight ahead to the next small street, turn right and cross the street, the go almost to the end of that block. The restaurant has a small banner and a white front, you enter and go up a few stairs. I´m sorry I don´t give coherent directions. I can´t tell a joke, either. Boa sorte. |

Spend the whole night at the Sambadromo during Carnaval. It´s incredible beyond description and must be seen, heard and experienced to be appreciated. Be prepared t o stay until dawn. |

Are you kidding? It´s Rio de Janeiro! Corcovado and Pao de Azucar are obvious. HI Copacabana offers several tours. The beach is a short walk away. |

Right after Carnaval I flew up to Boa Vista, Roraima, in the very northern part of Brasil. From there I went to Santa Elena Uairen, Venezuela, which is the gateway to Serra Pacaraima, the Gran Sabana, and Mount Roraima. It´s easy to book tours and treks here and lessexpensive than Boa Vista. |
