Surprisingly antofagasta is great. The guidebooks say to give it a miss but the Chilean people we met were incredibly friendly. There aren't many tourists there so the local people make you feel very welcome. |

loved the paragliding. Also if you walk along beach to left if you´re looking at it as coming from hostel and walk out to the posh flats there is a small port where at the time was a load of sealions... very cute to watch. Don´t miss humberstone the ghost town... where else can you freely roam feeling like a kid through a shell of a town complete with theatre, pool, school etc. Really interesting - just get cab or collectivo out there and hitch bus back. |

the place across the road from the hostel is great if you want a guacamole sandwich(it comes on everything) and you want service with a smile (the woman there is very very scary!) |
