Walking across the Golden Gate bridge and taking the ferry back from Sausalito. Also, walking the Land's End Trail. (Both are best in the mornings, when it's not so windy) |

Marin Headlands hostel across the Golden Gate Bridge, or up to Point Reyes if you're interested in outdoor pursuits away from urban congestion. If you're on public transportation, try Tahoe. You can take Amtrak to Sacramento and switch to an Amtrak bus (also there's a very beautiful hostel in Sacramento) |

Whole Foods is located a bit of a walk away and there are lots of Indian and Mexican places around that are alright. Head outside of the "downtown" core to get cheaper deals. |

It's not very cheap but Umami at Union and Webster is a must for dessert. They have an amazing cookie dough roll. Also If you go early they do have a few items that are about half off. |

Get a muni passport and a map and just ride the busses around, there's no need for a tour bus. Another fun thing to do is take the BART to Berkeley and walk down Telegraph street. |
