Mossada fortress, to see sunrise, if you have a car. But honestly we were not very impressed. The same picture one can see in the vicinity of the hostel. |

Don't miss to go into the Dead Sea. I found it very good that there's no need to pay entrance fees, etc. in Ein Gedi one can just walk into the Dead Sea at the public beach. |

Don´t miss Ein Gedi National Park with magnificence sceneries, especially waterfalls and ibexs. The entrace is only few meters from hostel. |

Staff told us the Hostel's restaurant is the cheapest eat in the area for 52 NIS. Did not try to find anything else. Buffet style food is good, but a little expensive if you are not very hungry. |

As for the beach at Ein Gedi, the good thing is that you can find your own mud in the holes. Entering the water might hurt your feet though and there is not much shade. For a clean, painless beach with umbrellas go to En Buqaq. Except there is no free mud there. |

You can travel to Jerusalem from En Gedi on Hwy 90 North and Hwy 1 West. No safety issues whatsoever. |

| HI Hostel Ein Gedi Offrant une belle vue sur la mer Morte, l'auberge se trouve sur le site le plus bas du monde. En surplomb, les falaises du désert de Yehuda.
51 chambres climatisées, avec douche et salle de bain, téléviseur, de quoi faire du café et mini-bar (certaines chambres).
Certaines chambres ont un balcon privé donnant sur la Mer Morte.
