Walk around the Cite at night. It is a unique opportunity to see the fortress without the turists. Hostel accomodation is just perfect for this. |

There's a pizza/Italian restaurant right of the hostel in the courtyard with all the other restaurants and I swear that the 7 Euro "pizza fromage" is the best I've ever had in France- and I eat a lot of pizza here. |

In France in general people eat later (in Paris between 7 and 9) and in Carcassonne between 6:30 and 8:30 or so. Nightclub wise there isn't much, but there are bars nearby. You should check out the fortress at night, it's all lit up and it quite charming (but it's always windy, so be prepared for a chill!) |

This hostel is located inside of the medieval fortress/citadel, so if you're coming to see that- you've got the perfect location. Turn left outside the entrance and you run into the castle's keep. Carcassonne is also conveniently located by other medieval fortresses which you can probably get to fairly easily. |

Carcassonne is in a windy region and I went in February so even though the temperature was bout 13 Celcius I was FREEZING! So prepare for the wind... |
