Arles is fantastic though try and get the bus if you're staying in the hi hostel as it's quite a decent walk. Mind you if you walked to the Carcassone one you can do anything. |

Don't go to Augerge de Lices the food was dissapointing. Better French influenced foo in England for less. |

Go to bed and sleep. Take a walk around the castle...beware of dog poop and take a bright torch at night. |

Hire a bike as the castle is far from the town/modern city... be prepared to get exhausted on a hot day coming back with a bike.It is steep cobbled and not disability accessed |

Well not Nimes as I did...a bad experience unless you get your act together quickly and do Nimes in a night and stay at a cheap hotel. I would recomend that. The hostel has wild cats!! |

Possible to walk from Carcassonne along the Midi Canal to the small but lovely village of Thebe. I was told it's about 10Km but it's more like 15Km. Better to rent a bicycle and ride along the canal path. |

eat outside the city because its quite expensive, there's a good supermarket on one of the main roads and the wine is really reasonable. |
