Nowhere. Arrived saturday at 20pm and everything was closed. Not that the city has much to offer, so everything is not much. But bring your own food. |

Nearby (one or two fjords to the east, about 20 minutes away in car) there is a natural hot pot and also a pool warmed from the same source. If you come by Bildudalur, go check that out, it is free and you will most likely be all alone in the fjord. |

Bildudalur is a very small town of less than 100 people. The only restaurant is just in front of the hostel and closes at 6 PM. We got there in time and had an excellent dinner. Most of the people staying at the hostel brought there own food and cooked using the facilities at the hostel. |

There is none in the town. It is a beautiful location and in the summer the sun is out until late. Therefore a nice walk or hike is the best thing to consider. Fantastic picture opportunities of the mountains and fjords. |

| HI Hostel BíldudalurL'auberge de Bíldudalur, près d'Arnarfjörður, appartient au réseau HI d'auberges islandaises. L'auberge jouit d'un bon emplacement, dans le sud, sur les fjords ouest, dans une ville d'environ 200 habitants. Tous les services de base sont disponibles en ville : petit magasin, café en été, une poste et une banque. L'auberge est idéalement située, près du port, où vous pourrez regarder les bateaux de pêche naviguer dans le fjord. L'auberge dispose d'une bonne cuisine, avec tout le matériel pour cuisiner, et à l'extérieur vous trouverez un barbecue. Il y a également un salon confortable avec la télévision, une étagère pour l'échange de libres et le wi-fi gratuit. Si vous n'avez pas d'ordinateur portable, l'auberge met gratuitement à disposition un ordinateur dans le salon. Les conditions climatiques sont excellentes à Bíldudalur en été, avec beaucoup de soleil et de tranquillité. La ville et sa région offrent plusieurs activités de loisir, ce qui rend l'auberge idéale pour ceux qui veulent partir en exploration ! En matière de vie de plein air, vous trouverez de nombreux itinéraires de randonnée magnifiques, tant pour randonneurs expérimentés que pour celles et ceux qui préfèrent une balade simple pour profiter de la beauté de ce somptueux cadre naturel. Si vous faites du golf, vous trouverez un parcours à 9 trous en ville et vous pourrez louer du matériel à l'auberge. Pour les amateurs d'ornithologie, vous trouverez une exploitation élevant des eiders à l'entrée de la ville, de mai à juin. A Bíldudalur, vous trouverez également un musée de la musique très intéressant, géré par Jón Kr. Ólafsson. Un peu plus loin, Selárdalur, avec de nombreuses attractions, dont plusieurs grandes sculptures réalisées par un artiste local, Samúel Jónsson, qui passa ici une grande partie de sa vie. A environ 90 km de l'auberge, Látrabjarg, où se toruve les plus grandes falaises où nichent des oiseaux, et à environ 50 km de la ville, la magnifique cascade de Dynjandi. | plus...... |
