Visit Avalanche peak ! It was beacutiful. The Scotts track is better than the Avalanche peak track when snow still left. Because the trail just before the peak of the Avalanche peak track was covered with snow and difficult to be found. |

| HI Hostel Arthur's Pass, Mountain House YHAMountain House is a great place to base your Arthur's Pass excursion - surrounded by National Park. Many short walks leave from the village. Visit the Devils Punchbowl waterfall or explore the Bealey or Otira Valleys. For the more adventurous the day trip up Avalanche Peak has spectacular views of the high mountains in the Park. Longer 1 or 2 overnight tramps include the Cass-Lagoon Saddle and Goat Pass. In winter take your choice from five local ski fields. | more...... |
