Cook in the hostel. There's a Monoprix and Franprix in Annecy city where you can buy food. The Franprix doesn't give plastic bags out -- bring your own.

A hike / run across the mountains east of the lake: Mont Veyrier, Mont Baron, Col de Bluffy, Chateau du Menthon, Le Port at Menthon St. Bernard. You can take the bus back on the D909 or walk / run back because there is a path there. Go to geoportail.fr and select the IGN maps to plan your hike.
